Flat House - 2012
A vertical reflection of an M-2 apartment layout at a 1:1 scale. The structure can easily be placed between residential blocks in contemporary housing estates, bringing new life to modernist urban space. More importantly, it serves as a commentary — and a critique — of the place we familiarly call “home,” a space we continuously struggle for while repaying the ever-present mortgage. The project also allows for alternative versions, such as M-3 or other individual interpretations of the apartment plan. The installations shown in the photographs were realized in the Netherlands at the invitation of the MOTI Gallery in Breda, and later presented at the MODEM Gallery in Debrecen, Hungary.
