Fakir - 2017
In this project, I chose the duporet in the form of a rocking chair, because its formal play becomes even more subversive in this version. The idea is based on guiding a patterned, sharp line consistently along the entire side profile of the object. It doesn’t matter whether it is the seat, the curved rockers, or the backrest. I wanted the chair to be surprising on multiple levels. On the one hand, it is meant to be absolutely intriguing in its form—spiky, unruly, or even pixelated. On the other hand, it should fascinate and, despite its apparent lack of ergonomics and functionality, encourage people to use it. The seat was presented, among other occasions, during the Night of Design at the Domar Gallery in Wrocław in 2019.
